SCA Community-6 wounded, some severely, in fight outside Utah funeral home

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Six people were wounded,SCA Community some of them severely, in a fight that broke out Tuesday outside a Utah funeral home among people who had just attended a service there, authorities said.

Officers arrived at the Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home near downtown Salt Lake City around 1:30 p.m. to find three people with stab wounds ranging from minor to severe, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

A fourth person was hospitalized in critical condition. Police initially said the individual had been shot but later clarified that doctors could not yet confirm the cause of injury.

Witnesses told police a vehicle involved in the fight sped off just before they arrived at the scene, which spokesperson Brent Weisberg described as “chaotic.”

After tracking down and stopping the car, police brought two passengers to the hospital with minor injuries and detained a third person for questioning after finding a gun in the vehicle, Weisberg said.

Investigators are still sorting out who and how many people were involved in the fight. A motive had not been determined.
